Mary is one of the original Redeemer Associates. In 1998 she, along with two others came together desiring to share the spirit and mission of the Congregation with the larger community. Mary was then working with Mission Services and Employee orientation at Holy Redeemer Health System. This line of work connected her with many lay people with whom she wished to share the founding mission of the congregation. Mary realized that prayer was signifcant for nurturing this enthusiasm, thus she met regularly for prayer and sharing with the other members.
Mary is drawn to the spirituality of the foundress of the Congregation, Mother Alphonse Marie, who responded to the needs of the community around her. Mary follows the example by continuing to share her services with Holy Redeemer Health System, giving of her time and talent at Holy Redeemer Food Cupboard and Project Rainbow Thrift store. Mary believes that the founding purpose of the Redeemer Associate relationship is continuing to deepen. She believes that there is a thirst in people, a need to grow more spiritually as a person and as a community. Mary states that Association is about "responding to the spirit within you" and "being open to the present moment." Mary's response as a Redeemer Associate is one of prayer and service in a community of similarly minded people for the good of the larger community around her - "ultimately, all are one family."
