Mission

We, the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer faithful to the spiritual tradition of Mother Alphonse Maria Eppinger, contemplate, live and proclaim the
Mystery of Redemption,
so that we and others may find hope and healing through Jesus, the Redeemer.

When Mother Alphonse Maria began her village health care ministry in France early in the 19th century, she set an example for ministries which continue to this day throughout the world, touching the lives and souls of countless individuals. In the United States, the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer founded the   Holy Redeemer Health System to assist them in caring for the needs, physical, spiritual and emotional, of the people in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties, and throughout New Jersey.  Today, Holy Redeemer Health System continues to derive its animating spirit and organizing values from the lived-faith experience of the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer. As Sponsors of the Holy Redeemer Health System, we ensure the preservation and enhancement of Catholic mission and values in all of our ministries. We desire to be good stewards by providing faith-based health care and social services to those in need. By continuing our sponsorship and involvement in the Holy Redeemer Health System, we remain active participants in the life-giving mission of Jesus.

“That our lives become fruitful, and that God who began this good work in us will bring it to completion.”
– Mother Alphonse Maria Eppinger
