My Magnificat

 
 
On a retreat, the young women in formation with the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer were asked to pray with Mary's Magnificat and then to compose their own prayer of praise and wonder to our Lord.  Following is the Magnificat composed by Sr. Katharina Maria, a woman in Temporary Profession with the Congregation.

 

                                                                                           

 

My soul rejoices in you my Savior

How happy I am to dwell in you

Listening to your heart

I embrace your gift that dwells within me

Clothed in you

truth and love comes over me

feeling the deep intimacy that I

receive from your beauty

Gifted with your spirit

I go and love

the flower of your garden

the music of your creation

the child of your mother’s womb

the infirm with your wisdom

I rejoice in you my love

burning with all my soul

dancing with you for the hungry

Able to still the thirst of the lonely

I rejoice

I dance

I sing

dwelling in joy

With your breath I am the flute

making music

for all who are weeping

for all who are singing

With us being one

the beauty of the world is within us
